How to Use the Bottle
Using your formula mixing bottle correctly is key to safe and successful feeding. Follow these steps for a perfect bottle every time:
Fill with warm water
- Heat water to your baby’s desired temperature and pour it into the base.
- Remember, Bobbie is best served at 100°F! If you intend to boil your water, let it cool for about 30 minutes before pouring it into the bottle.
Add formula powder
- First, make sure the powder chamber is securely closed by twisting the green band until the line and logo align with the closed (upside-down, filled) triangle.
- Add the appropriate number of scoops of powdered formula to the chamber based on the formula’s mixing instructions.
- Attach the lid and twist to ensure it's sealed.
Twist, shake, and feed
When your baby is ready to eat:
-
Twist the green band to the open symbol (upside-down, unfilled triangle) to release the formula into the water.
-
With the cap still on, shake thoroughly to mix.
-
Remove the cap, attach the connector collar and nipple, and your bottle is ready to serve. Consider testing the temperature of the formula on your wrist to ensure it’s not too hot before offering it to your baby.
How to Clean the Bottle
Proper cleaning helps your baby stay healthy!
Disassemble
-
Remove the lid, connector collar, and nipple.
-
Remove the thermal vessel (the main water component).
-
On the formula chamber, twist the green band until the line sits under the water droplet symbol. Once it clicks, the chamber will separate into two pieces for washing.
Clean
-
Wash all parts with warm, soapy water or place them on the top rack of the dishwasher.
Dry
-
Allow every component to air dry completely (a bottle rack is ideal!) before putting the bottle back together.

Key Reminders
-
Do not store prepared formula in the bottle. Always store the water and powdered formula in their separate compartments until you’re ready to mix, and feed immediately after mixing.
-
Wash your hands before handling formula or bottle parts.
-
Cool boiled water properly (30–35 minutes after boiling) before adding it to the insulated vessel, and always test the temperature on your wrist before feeding—formula should be served no warmer than 100°F.
-
Extra caution for high-risk babies: Premature or immunocompromised infants may require a different feeding setup. Consult your healthcare provider before using this bottle to ensure it’s appropriate for your baby.
Other Guidelines
- Once feeding begins, discard any remaining mixed formula after 1 hour.
- If you have not started feeding, discard any unused, mixed formula after 2 hours.
- Discard any unmixed powder still in the chamber after 24 hours.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What is it/how is it different from a normal bottle?
-
The Hot-to-Go Bottle is a convenient, 3-in-1 bottle designed for parents on the go. The insulated bottle keeps water warm for up to 6 hours, has a separate chamber for powdered formula for fresh formula mixing, and includes an anti-colic nipple to reduce gas.
-
It is made from food grade stainless steel with no BPA, it’s leak-proof, easy to clean, and perfect for on-the-go feedings.
Q: Can you pre-make formula and keep it warm, or only mix fresh?
-
The Hot-to-Go Bottle is the ultimate on the go feeding bottle. The double-walled insulated bottle keeps water warm and powder fresh until you’re ready to mix + feed. That way, you don’t have to worry about how long your prepared bottle has been sitting out. You can make your bottle fresh anytime, anywhere: a prepared bottle of formula is only good for up to 1 hour at room or heated temperature once you start feeding.
-
Do not use the Hot-to-Go Bottle to store prepared (unused) formula for more than 2 hours.
Q: What's the maximum water capacity of the Hot-To-Go Bottle?
-
For the 9oz bottle, we recommend filling to 8oz max to leave room for the formula powder and provide space to shake and mix.
Q: Can it hold enough powder for multiple feedings, or just one?
-
The bottle is meant to be used for a single feeding. When you twist to release the formula, it will release all the powder in the chamber.
Q: Bobbie has said before that we shouldn’t store formula in anything other than the can. How is this different? Is the chamber completely sealed/airtight to keep powder dry?
-
The chamber is sealed/water-tight and will keep the powder dry.
-
Any formula in the chamber that has not been used should be tossed after 1 day.
Q: Are the slow/medium/fast flow nipples included, or sold separately?
-
When you purchase the bottle, you can choose between medium or fast flow nipples. Need to change nipple flow as your baby grows? We have you covered. Easily change the nipple flow without buying a new bottle. You can purchase the Nipple pack, which is available in three flow rates (slow, medium and fast). Unsure when it’s time to change the nipple flow? This blog post outlines what to look for!
Q: Is this dishwasher safe?
-
Yes! All parts come apart easily and are dishwasher safe and easy to clean. Place on the top rack of the dishwasher.
-
You can also boil, steam or sterilize all parts of your Hot-to-Go Bottle.
