Why is DHA in Bobbie formula?
DHA is an omega-3 fatty acid that is an important nutrient during infancy.
Schizochytrium oil: Schizochytrium oil used in Bobbie's formula milk comes from single-celled sea algae that naturally produce DHA, an omega-3 fatty acid. DHA supports brain development and function. This baby formula ingredient also plays an important role in eye development and health.
DHA is one of those ingredients parents often encounter while doing formula research. Our goal is to make the answer easier to find: what it is, where ours comes from, and why it’s included.
What fats are in Bobbie formula?
Babies need dietary fat, so infant formula needs sources of fat.
Bobbie formulas use a carefully selected fat blend to provide essential fatty acids and energy. Our proprietary oil blend is USDA Organic, meaning it’s free from synthetic pesticides, chemical solvents, and inorganic bleaching agents. Plant-based oils provide important fatty acids like those found in breast milk— which help support babies' nutritional needs. The exact blend depends on the recipe, and Bobbie’s Whole Milk formulas also contain milk fat from whole milk.
