For optimal dissolvability, we recommend preparing Bobbie with warm water, slightly warmer than room temperature.

Water used for mixing infant formula must be from a safe source, like distilled, purified, or nursery water. If using tap water, bring to a rolling boil for one minute and let cool for no more than 30 minutes. "The spoons are horrible, what about if I need 5 ounces? How do I make half?? The spoons are incredibly uncomfortable. Also nothing to sweep the formula from the spoon. It takes tons of time to get enough formula without empty spaces in the spoon and on top of that I CUT MY FINGER on the edge of this formula!! Really the most uncomfortable formula! Oh, and on top of everything, I make formula on 70’C and some yellow particles do NOT dissolve!!!! Is my 2-3 months baby supposed to choke on them????"

Good, but isn’t dissolving fully

"I love the ingredients and my daughter tolerates it well but it doesn’t fully dissolve like the whole milk organic formula does, warmed or room temp. There seem to be yellowish concentrated pieces in it. Maybe I should sift it better but just a scoop out of the tin is resulting in that. We will continue using it though!"

Hirschsprung's baby!

"Hello! I have a full term Hirschsprung's baby at home now for about a month after birth. He has not had his pull through surgery yet and we are doing irrigations. He has not had enterolcolitis once so far. My wife and I wanted something easy for him to digest and reduce gas build up in his little tummy. He was originally on a name brand formula from the hospital and it was just so thick and terrible, full of sugar and slow to digest. When we made the swap it was old turkey from one to the other and he showed normal signs of transitioning formula. Change in flavor, runny poo, gassy. It took him 2 days to learn to digest the new formula and since then Bobbie has been a life saver! His stool formed correctly and runs through his tummy like breast milk did. His gas cut down to about half as it was on leading name brand formula, he spits up and has hiccups way less. Overall 10/10."

The main difference is the protein structure. Bobbie Gentle uses partially hydrolyzed, broken down proteins for easier digestion, while regular Bobbie uses intact whole-milk proteins (60:40 whey-to-casein ratio like breast milk). Both are nutritionally complete, but Gentle is designed specifically for babies dealing with fussiness, gas, and/or crying.
  1. Start by washing your hands, bottles, and accessories in hot, soapy water. 
  2. Add warm water (100ºF) to the bottle.
  3. For every 2 fl. oz. of water, add one unpacked, level scoop of Bobbie. You can tap the scoop on the side of the can to knock off any extra powder, or use a clean knife to level it off. Use the scoop that comes in the can of Bobbie formula.
  4. Pop the scoop back in the can and put the lid on.
  5. Cap the bottle and shake gently until the powder is fully dissolved.
  6. Bobbie is designed for safe, everyday feeding when prepared as directed. Use prepared formula within 2 hours, and once feeding has started, discard any unfinished bottle after 1 hour. Heads up: don't refrigerate leftover formula to save for later.

One can of Bobbie Organic Gentle® Milk Formula makes approximately 23 four-ounce bottles of formula. How quickly you go through a can will depend on your baby’s eating habits and needs.

You can store a freshly prepared and untouched bottle of Bobbie at room temperature for up to 2 hours or in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours. Once feeding has begun, discard the bottle after 1 hour. Don’t refrigerate leftover formula to save it for later.
